Kimberly Eckert
Kimberly Eckert serves as the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Reach University while still teaching and leading in West Baton Rouge Schools. She holds a BA in social work, an MEd in Special Education, and is pursuing a PhD in Learning, Innovation, and Instruction. An educator for 13 years, Kimberly is an ASCD Emerging Leader, a Global Teacher Prize Finalist, a national fellow for Understood.org, and serves on the National Policy Committee for the National Center for Learning Disabilities. Eckert was a 2019 NEA Social Justice Activist of the Year national finalist, 2018 Louisiana Teacher of the Year, and the inaugural Louisiana Public Interest Fellow for her work developing a state-wide Educators Rising Program for targeted recruitment of a diverse and culturally responsive teacher pipeline.
Kimberly is also a reading specialist, having served as an instructional coach, master teacher, reading interventionist, mentor teacher, English and special education teacher. She recently co-authored a book titled, “Flip the System: US” and enjoys cooking, eating cheese, playing video games, and building with Legos.

Lacy is a former Army Interrogator turned Elementary Teacher / Technology Facilitator. While deployed to Iraq, she taught our allies to speak English. When they were able to understand an abstract idea instead of just a concrete noun, she knew teaching was her calling. Her purpose has never been clearer: to facilitate training that impacts students of all ages to become responsible and productive citizens, effective decision-makers, and life-long learners. Lacy is certified in many online platforms, a Smithsonian Teacher Ambassador, NSTA Maitland P. Simmons Science Award winner, NSTA/Shell Science Lab Challenge winner, LaCUE Regional Elementary Teacher of the Year, STAND For Children LEAD Fellow, LearnWEST Fellow, and former West Baton Rouge Parish Teacher of the Year (2019). Lacy continues her Ed-Tech journey by facilitating training in West Baton Rouge and globally to teachers of the United Arab Emirates.

Morgan Decuir
Morgan is a first grade teacher in her hometown of West Baton Rouge Parish, where she was born and raised and her career in education started. Every day in her classroom, she strives to ensure that her students have hands-on, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences. She currently incorporates technology in many of her lessons on a daily basis for her little learners to equip them with 21st Century Skills to use now and for their future, all while strengthening their foundational skills needed for lifelong learning.
Previously, Morgan has presented for Mini LACUE, the West Baton Rouge Resilient Educators Conference, LACUE Cares, and for the West Baton Rouge Creative Constructive Lab. In 2015, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, and in 2018, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Literacy Education. She also holds a Reading Specialist certification.

I have been teaching for going on 17 years now. I have taught social studies, english, and worked into programming and STEAM via gifted instruction and enrichment. I have three daughters that push me to continue learning new things each year. I love my students and I love being in WBR, where teachers are appreciated.

Dr. Kellie Green
Dr. Green is an environmental science teacher at Port Allen High School(PAHS). At PAHS she is garden club sponsor and recycling coordinator. Dr. Green is always thinking about new ways technology can be incorporated into the classroom. This year her students will have an opportunity to use 3D photography to enhance their presentations about wetlands.
